Every wedding is its own story. Few however, have the power to stand out enough to be featured in Vogue.

The wedding of Dr. Hazel Wallace and David Birtwistle in Corfu was one of them. A ceremony with clean aesthetics, quiet details and genuine emotion. So balanced that Vogue chose to showcase it for its style, consistency and authenticity.
This is one of the distinct types of weddings we create at Lilyfleur.

And to be clear. Vogue did not participate in the wedding design. It did not do the styling, it did not give directions and it did not influence the creative direction. It simply selected the project and presented it to its audience. For a master florist like Lily and our creative team, this is the highest recognition of our work. You are chosen because your work has quality, identity and consistency. Not because you have good public relations.

The beautiful ceremony took place in Kassiopi, across two villas that served as a natural background without overpowering the couple. This is the key to a high-end destination wedding. The landscape must support the emotion.

The Design. The Details That Made the Difference

When we were called to take on this wedding, the goal was just one. Nothing “staged.” Nothing excessive. No moments that scream social media. We designed a wedding with absolute focus on the human element.

The main elements of the concept were:

  • A small guest list. Only 36 people. This allows the space to fill with personality.
    • A soft Mediterranean palette. White roses, neutral fabrics, colours that help the light work.
    • Floral minimalism. Every arrangement placed to create atmosphere, not to steal attention.
    • A poolside ceremony. Overlooking the Ionian Sea. A backdrop magical on its own.
    • Light. Always light. Corfu offers plenty of it. And we used it fully.

The ceremony had its own magic. The handfasting was done with a silk handkerchief that belonged to Hazel’s father. A detail that touched all of us.

Look, Styling and Aesthetic Direction

Dr. Hazel Wallace chose her wedding dress in New York. A Justin Alexander gown with clean lines, a sweetheart neckline and a train that followed her silhouette beautifully without excess. For the after party she preferred a lighter, modern dress that allowed her to move comfortably until late in the evening. Her jewellery remained discreet, with pearls and delicate metallic details. The Charlotte Mills and Gianvito Rossi shoes completed the look in a quiet, elegant way.

Mr. David Birtwistle wore a bespoke cream suit with mother-of-pearl buttons. Elegant, bright and perfectly matched to the scenery of Corfu. The bridesmaids wore champagne tones that aligned beautifully with the Mediterranean palette we had designed.

As Lilyfleur, we had to move accordingly. We designed the palette, the floral compositions and the overall equipment in close collaboration with the bride, so that every element of the wedding reflected her personal vision.

The Dinner and the Atmosphere

The dinner was one of the most demanding parts of the design. The table is the “heart” of the evening. It is where conversations unfold and where many of the memories are made.

For that reason we created:

  • one long table for a sense of togetherness
    • soft floral arrangements at varying heights for depth
    • white and nude tones to let light and candle glow dominate
    • abundant candles for a warm, low lit ambiance
    • carefully selected tableware to integrate every visual element
    • floral runners that added flow without blocking eye contact
    • symmetry across all focal points for a clean image from every angle

The result was a space filled with warmth, elegance, order and natural beauty.

Closing

This wedding was a project where every choice mattered. From the flowers to the final layout, our goal was to create a result that felt natural, calm and thoughtfully designed.

At Lilyfleur, this is how we approach every single wedding. Whether grand or intimate. With a focus on emotion, clean aesthetics and understated details that make the true difference.

If you dream of a wedding with personality, balance and elegance, it would be our pleasure to explore creative ways to design it together.
